A Week with Author, Shelia P. Moses

SheliaM1During the week of July 6th, Thornwell’s middle school and high school students spent their days with award-winning author, Shelia P. Moses, learning about the steps to the writing process and how to put their thoughts and research together to create a compelling story. The genre was historical fiction and the experience was priceless.

On Tuesday evening, July 7, an author’s reception was held at the Gillam Center for the Performing Arts, where Mrs. Moses read from two of her works, The Legend of Buddy Bush, and Sallie Gal and the Wall-a-kee Man. Afterwards, she took questions from the audience. When asked to name her favorite historical fiction book, Mrs. Moses replied, “The Legend of Buddy Bush, of course!”

Following the readings, refreshments were served and Mrs. Moses autographed her books for the crowd. The week wrapped up with the students reading from their own well-written works on Friday morning. We are so proud of all of our writers!

We would like to thank Mrs. Moses for generously sharing her talent with our young people and for encouraging them to live their dreams!
