7th Annual Butterfly Release Ceremony

On Sunday, May 16, Hospice of Laurens County held its 7th Annual Butterfly Release Ceremony at Hartness-Thornwell Memorial Presbyterian Church on the campus of Thornwell Home for Children.

The memorial service is held each year to honor those who have past on, offering friends and family an opportunity to honor and celebrate the lives of loved ones lost.

Rev. Daniel Compton, Hospice of Laurens County bereavement coordinator welcomed attendees, and a prayer of invocation was offered by Rev. Sherrill Green, pastor of Clinton First Pentecostal Holiness Church. Following the reading of the memorials and honorees and a closing prayer, those in attendance gathered on the lawn beside the church and released Painted Lady butterflies in honor of their loved ones.
